Have now joined the Wii Crowd

Hey hows it goin.Im a strong PC Gamer, who just recently purchased a Sony Bravi 46'' LCD. So i've decided to do it properly, getting myself a Wii. Already have it on layby (lay-away in american terms) for Christmas..my questions are, what games should i be looking for?I want that Zelda game, coz i wanna get the comat pack, looks fun. is that Combat Pack any good? i also have eyes for one of the Prince of Persia games to go with it..but which one? Rival Swords? Also, is it worth getting one of the old Gamecube controllers? planning on getting games like Crash Titans and Lego stars Wars Saga etc...seems easier to control on one of the old controllers.Lastly, what is the best and most compatible light gun to get? Do the light guns work for ANY shooter game? im keen on getting one of the resident evil games, but i dont wanna get the wrong gun or have to buy like 3 different guns for different games.Sorry, i really have no idea yet, any advice appreciated. :)Have now joined the Wii Crowd
If you want to know what games to get, the Stickied Recommendation Thread has the answer for you. You should definitely get at least one GC controller. The best gun to get would be the Wii Zapper which makes its debut later this month and it will be compatible with Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.Have now joined the Wii Crowd
What is the combat pack?I think the must play games thus far are definitely:Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessMatroid Prime 3: CorruptionSuper Mario GalaxySuper Paper Mario %26 Zack and Wiki: The Quest for Barbaros TreasureAbout a Gamecube controller, get a wireless Waverbird if you can find one. Also, there is a great collection of Gamecube games you can go back to and play, keep that in mind.

[/QUOTE]the combat pack is the sword and shield thing for the wii remote and wii nunchuk Example of Ebayand regards to the comment about gamecube games...wait so if i buy a gamecube game, it will work on the Wii. say, Rogue Squadron 2 and 3for example ???
You canplay allthe GameCube games on Wii. All you need is a GameCube controller and a GameCube memory card.
sweet, this thing sounds awesome already.so whats the verdict on the Combat Pack, i linked it in my above post. has anyone used one before?
LOL, the combat pack looks cool in a geeky way, which most of us around here are. But it's obviosuly not something you need. The swordfighting in Twilight Princess was a late addition to the game and is not 1:1, as in if you swing the sword to your left Link is not going to swing his sword to the left. It looks kind of pricy and personally I'd hold off on it and use that money elsewhere, maybe towards a game. Unless you want to buy it for novelty sakes, I can understand that.

It doesn't change gameplay at all. It's made by some Chinese company trying to cash in on the Wii's success.Currently, there are no light gun/on-rails shooter games out for the Wii. The first one, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles comes out this Tues. You don't need a separate contoller to play, the Wiimote acts as the light gun. If you really want the gun feel, you can get the Wii Zapper, which is a shell made by Nintendo that you stick your Wiimote and Nunchuck in. Here's a picture:It's $20, but comes with ''Link's Crossbow Training'' which is a little game to farmiliarize you with the Zapper, and the Zapper is also compatible with RE:UC,. It comes out Nov. 19th. The Wii's second on-rails shooter, Ghost Squad, comes out Nov. 20th and works with the Zapper also. Also, I would advise against getting PoP: Rival Swords. It's basically a (bad) port of Two Thrones with (bad) motion controls tacked on. You would be much better off getting PoP: The Two Thrones for the Gamecube and playing that on the Wii with a Gamecube controller.

I'm not sure if the combo sword/shield for Zelda is worth it or necessary for that matter. Make sure you download some classic games off the VC.
