Yes they can make a differeance. They cost as much as the s-video cable.Component Cables Question
Well since your TV is widescreen and supports progressive scan then yes, it will improve quality! :D But don't go throwing your old cables away, keep them plugged in for easy switching between regular gaming and VC gaming (most don't support Component cable *grr)
