Knowing GS, they may give the game either a 7.5 or a solid 8.0. I'd be shocked if it gets lower than 7.5. Personally, I'm hoping for 8.5 or better (wishful thinking I know).

-nintendos' customer service practices-
because of nintendo I have had the greatest customer service experience ever... it goes like this: late sept. i find out i have to move within a month. soon after i find out, my wii starts displaying vertical lines of pixels that flicker different colors. first i think '' great my new tv is broken''. however, i test it on another tv and it is doing the same thing. since i don't know where i will be living, i am hesitant to get it repaired. fast forward. last sun(11/4/07) i am settling in to my new place(hooking up t.v. and all necessary electronics) and i plug my wii in. it has gotten worse. i go online to see if others have had this problem. i find that this has happened quite abit and it means my gpu is shot. so on mon(11/5/07) i call it in to nintendo. i tell them what's wrong and i ask how long it will be to get it back. they tell my 8-12 business days. i explain my disappointment because mario galaxy(i preordered it and paid it all off) was due out on the 13th and that would mean i wouldn't receive my wii until nov. 14th to nov. 20th. i ask if there is any way he can upgrade the shipping because if my situation. he checks with his boss and says yes but there is no way he can guarantee it will be there in time. i say it is ok and thank him for his effort and time. it is now 11/8/07 and my wii is repaired and shipped for a delivery date of 11/12/07. just in time for me to enjoy mario the day that it comes out. thanks nintendo! -nintendos' customer service practices-

Co-sign from me too. I rented it out of curiousity to see what everyone's been buzzing about for like a year. It is a classic game. I'm working my budget now to buy SMG, Fire Emblem GameCube, and Zack %26 Wiki.

I have it and i highly recommend it as well. It is a challenging, funny, and stylish puzzle game that unfortunatley is being passed over due to the fact that it looks like a kids game. In some ways it may be a kids game at heart, but some of the puzzles in Zack and Wiki are way beyond a kids understanding. I have gotten stuck on some puzzles for long periods of time, but for some reason, unlike other puzzle games, instead ofgetting so irratated that i stop playing all together, it really keeps you wanting to find the treasure. A must have game for any wii owner who is up for a challenge.

Almost everyone who has commented has this game....and I am in the same boat. I've had a super busy schedule and haven't had anytime to really sink into it, but I just got out of the jungle and on to the ice stages. I must say I am very impressed. This game makes me happy to have a Wii. Go buy it if you don't have it!

I dunno why nintendo hasnt made one yet (???) if even homebrew developers claim it to be really easy, and they've proven it.

Nope. Nintendo make gaming consoles not dvd players!!!!!!! ;)The Japan release in early 2008 features dvd playback.

I finally got my copy today this afternoon, it's a pretty fun game. The controls respond well to each event but some events take a little more time getting used to like the Aquatics for example, I seem to have a bit of trouble performing the swimming motions for some reason. Athletics is very fun, the Track and Field events are some of my favorites especially the Hammer Throw. Once you get the motions and timing down the events become a lot easier though I didn't have too much trouble to begin with for most of the events. I also really enjoy Gymnastics which features the Trampoline and Shooting which features Skeet. Fencing and Table Tennis are pretty fun too but my least favorite event would have to be the Aquatics just because I've had the most difficulty with it so far but that may change once I get more practice in. Not all of the events are unlocked when you first start the game though, there are quite a few to unlock.There's a Single Match Mode which is pretty much likea practice mode, you can choose one event to compete in and once it's finished you can do it over or choose a new event. You can also earn Medals in this mode and set new Olympic Records and World Records. There's a Circuit Mode, which so far only features Beginner's Class and Free Circuit, you have to unlock the rest. In Beginner's Circuit there are 4 circuits, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn with one to unlock and each circuit featuresthree events to compete in. There's a Mission Mode which lets you choose any character you want and each character hassix events,four at first withtwo to unlock. There's a Gallery which has Olympic Trivia, Modern Olympic Games, Beijin 2008, Ancient Olympic Games and About Athletes. And there's also Records which features Records, Rankings and Collections. On Rankings it uses Wi-Fi. You can choose an event and then see a list of the Top 30 players or you can choose to see Near My Records if you're not in the Top 30, you can also Udate Rankings at any time just by clicking on the Update button.There's also a good selection of characters, 16 in all. Eight from Mario and eight from Sonic. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. There's four different sets of characters, Power Type, All-Around, Speed Type and Skill Type and eachset has four characters. Knuckles, Bowser, Vector and Wario are Power. Mario, Amy, Luigi and Blaze are All-Around. Sonic, Daisy, Shadow and Yoshi are Speed. And Peach, Tails, Waluigi and Eggman are Skill. You can also use Mii's but for some reason it only lets you choose from six pre-selected ones instead of actual Mii's you created. I didn't notice at first because I only briefly selected the Mii option, but when I went back to it later I realized that you can infact select any Mii that you've created as well. I thought I should edit this part rather then make a new post and correct myself so people who read this don't get the wrong information.All in all I'd have to say that this is a definite purchase especially if you like Mario and Sonic or if you just like Mini Games. It's definitly the best Mini Game collection on Wii so far next to Mario Party 8. The events are fun and don't get too repetative. There's definitly a lot of play time to be had especially with the Rankings being updated daily, you can always try to break new records. And if you have four friends over that's even better. There's a good selection of characters and a descent amount of events, 24 in all I think. I recommend this game to anyone, especially people who have doubts about it. I guess someone said that maybe the experience of one gamer is far better than 100 critics, unless a real gamer tell you how it is the game, then you should keep you mind open as far as opinions and reviews. If you say that the game is good and not only FAIR i believe you.

I, personally, have the game and completely disagree with Eron Thomas(or whatever the hell his name is, i don't give a damn). The controls respond great and are very different one game to another. If you want a review that's not half-ass go see IGNs, they prove some decent points like the game not having multiplayer vs.The game is so fun and challenging and it makes you get really tired (probably why fat-ass gamespot reviewers don't like it), but in a good way. And people that are saying Nintendo should have handled it, not all Nintendo games are good, especially the Mario sports games spin-offs and Mario Partys (P.S. this game is a lot more fun than Mario Party 8 and uses the movement alot better). But this game, even if it is Sega, is very good. Don't let yourself get controlled by reviewers who have their own opinions.

SEGA has been one of the best third party developers on the Wii.
Super Monkey Ball and Sonic are two of the most highly-rated third party Wii games. Mario and Sonic is getting good scores elsewhere, and Ghost Squad and NiGHTS are looking good too.

Hey hows it goin.Im a strong PC Gamer, who just recently purchased a Sony Bravi 46'' LCD. So i've decided to do it properly, getting myself a Wii. Already have it on layby (lay-away in american terms) for Christmas..my questions are, what games should i be looking for?I want that Zelda game, coz i wanna get the comat pack, looks fun. is that Combat Pack any good? i also have eyes for one of the Prince of Persia games to go with it..but which one? Rival Swords?Also, is it worth getting one of the old Gamecube controllers? planning on getting games like Crash Titans and Lego stars Wars Saga etc...seems easier to control on one of the old controllers.Lastly, what is the best and most compatible light gun to get? LOL, the combat pack looks cool in a geeky way, which most of us around here are. But it's obviosuly not something you need. The swordfighting in Twilight Princess was a late addition to the game and is not 1:1, as in if you swing the sword to your left Link is not going to swing his sword to the left. It looks kind of pricy and personally I'd hold off on it and use that money elsewhere, maybe towards a game. Unless you want to buy it for novelty sakes, I can understand that.

It's $20, but comes with ''Link's Crossbow Training'' which is a little game to farmiliarize you with the Zapper, and the Zapper is also compatible with RE:UC,. It comes out Nov. 19th. The Wii's second on-rails shooter, Ghost Squad, comes out Nov. 20th and works with the Zapper also.Also, I would advise against getting PoP: Rival Swords. It's basically a (bad) port of Two Thrones with (bad) motion controls tacked on. You would be much better off getting PoP: The Two Thrones for the Gamecube and playing that on the Wii with a Gamecube controller.

LOL, the combat pack looks cool in a geeky way, which most of us around here are. But it's obviosuly not something you need. The swordfighting in Twilight Princess was a late addition to the game and is not 1:1, as in if you swing the sword to your left Link is not going to swing his sword to the left. It looks kind of pricy and personally I'd hold off on it and use that money elsewhere, maybe towards a game. Unless you want to buy it for novelty sakes, I can understand that.

Activating them takes just as long (and is probably quicker) as using your credit card.

Guitar Hero 3 issues
okay i bought mine launch day and a week later the wammy bar wouldn't work.when i went to caliberate it it just said it already was though it didn't reconize anythingso i went to my store and swapped it out for another wii guitarand now playing online against jfrost (if you're here thats why i dropped out of our match) my wammy bar f'ed up again!its doing the same thing all over again!of course i was dreading the moment my opponent hit me with the whammy bar attack and of course once he did i could do nothing.please suggest something coz i'd love to know i'm overlooking some tiny error.thanksGuitar Hero 3 issues
Ah dude take out the wii mote and put it back in without touching any of the buttons on the guitar including the whammy bar. Also to calibrate you must press the whammy bar down and let it flip back while holding the green button. Not that impossible. Do not press the joysticks, strum, or whammy bar while the game is loading. Basic game operating procedure. Every game manual for the PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 warns not to touch the controller joysticks while turning on the system or have the game load. It's user error not the guitar itself that is the issue. Guitar Hero 3 issues

I recently rented because I was really curious about the premise and some footage. I knew the review said it is lame and, actually, it seemed cheesy to me but I like bugs a lot so I give it a try.
Ok. So this is to share, essentially, with people who actually enjoyed the game and, secondlly, to people who likes to try new things with open mind.
I was going to write a review but, really, the game is bad, is an excellent series B movie translated to a game, and, as far as the experience goes for me, it worked.
The whole plot, th dialogs, and even some situations are just cliché–Ÿ, but, somehow they integrate overall and make for a consistent experience.
The controls work for the most time but combat gameplay is crippled and, in certain situation you feel abused. I think is normal as you play as a teenager with no combat experience, but the bad animations make it feel frustrating.
Some of the points I saw criticized are that you can avoid a lot of enemies. I really like that part and I'm pretty sure I would do it in real life. In any case, the game reconogzies you when you achieve certain milestones (althopuh there is no much more than a grade rating at the end of the game to unlocck som extra weapons).
In any case, I really want to encourage you, who are not try it, to rent it at least and play it without predjuices. And, to the people who played it, to share their experience.
I don't encourage SW developers to continue by this road, but I'd give it a better score than the critics had done.

1. does it have a30 frame rate. or 60?
2. how does the leveling go for galaxies? like doyoufirst go into a galaxy, and then there are solar systems, and then levels? or is it like you go into galaxies, and then there are places to go that are singular levels? i never understood how it worked. any help would be fine
3. what is the price for this game. because in CAN, its like $49.99 in my futureshop, and then in America its like $59.99, and one time i saw this game at $69.99! in CAN. so can someone tell me the real price for CAN.
4. is yoshi playable in the game? because i heard rumors of a video that had yoshi in it, but i couldn't find it.

Hey guys. I am really confused, but can someone give me some advice. I really like platformer games as much as I do shooter strategy games. That is why I really dont know whether I should get SMG or Battalion Wars 2. Galaxy looks like a lot of fun but I also feel it has no replay value, however BW2 has online and looks like a good game. Newbie needs help!?!?
This is probably a really stupid question, but I can't figure this out...How do I play games multiplayer? I've tried to play both Rockstar Table Tennis and MLB Power Pros in multiplayer mode. Both games have screens that say press a button to join in, but it doesn't say what button. The 2nd controller works on all the Nintendo games, so I know it's not a controller malfunction.Is there some certain button(s) to press to join the 2nd controller into these games?Any help would be much appreciated! But with games like Mario Strikers and even VC games, all I have to do is press a button on the second controller to get it to work.Try pressing the HOME button while in-game and tweak both controllers that way. You should be able to set which player is set to which controller. You have to press the 1 and 2 buttons or something along those lines. It should make more sense if you just go in and try it.

You should be able to set which player is set to which controller. You have to press the 1 and 2 buttons or something along those lines. It should make more sense if you just go in and try it.

Here is my advice... If you do rent it be willing to rent it a second time, dont rush it just because you have to take it back. It is so much more rewarding play this game without useing any hints/extra lives. I dont think you will truly appreciate this game unless you restart each level every time you die. Its hard but it very rewarding after each level.That being said, I still think you should buy this game instead of renting. This game costs $39.99. Renting costs $8, so doing it twice would cost $16. If you buy it you can do it at your pace, once you are finished you can redo it to get higher scores, and once your finished you can show your friends with a Wii how great this game is. If you decide to rent instead of buy, make sure that positive about that decision soon because I dont think this game will be around very long so you will have a hard time buying it down the road if you eventually decide you want to own it.

Resident Evil is my favorite series and I'm getting RE:UC for sure.
I'm getting it. Especially since it has 2 player co-op. Also, I hear it's supposed to be pretty long for an on-rails shooter. I heard between 15-20 hrs. Which isalongtime for an on-rails shooter. Also, it seemingly has more depth than most rail games. In addition to that the story is supposed to be awesome--which I think is a huge selling point for this game as it ties up loose ends in the RE storyline.

I'm on the fence of getting that game. It is resident evil, but its a rail shooter. THE WII is not starting to suck i work in an electronic store where we don't sell the wii and we get more request for that than any of theother consoles, the better games are coming, Mario galaxy, resident evil umbrella chronicles, smash bros brawlobviously where only into the first year of this console and more great things will come.

You have to wait more, the developers are just learning how to make good games, i'm telling you, just wait, in a year we should have more quality games than now (have in mind that we already have some great games).
I find it interesting and flat-out paradoxical to see so many threads on the Wii board that downplay the system, since within the next few months, a glut of great games are being released. Then there are all the ones already released, such as RE4: Wii Edition, MP3: Corruption, Zelda: TP, and more. I could see the criticism being aimed at the system for Spring 2008, but... honestly, why care about that time period when so much high quality software will be out by then?

I did say something nice. I said nicely that he needs to tell us what he is looking for in a game and we would help him find it. As for definition of a troll: posting something just to induce flames. How else are people to react to this opinion other than: 1) No it doesn't! It rules! 2) I agree, it sucks, I sold mine! didn't you see my forum post where I declared my intelligence level?; 3) Oh yeah take this LIST! * pastes top 50 games for the wii * (note this doesn't really help anything more than induce more of the - but see most of those 'Suck' comments); or 4) Oh yeah... you just wait and see!. THE WII is not starting to suck i work in an electronic store where we don't sell the wii and we get more request for that than any of theother consoles, the better games are coming, Mario galaxy, resident evil umbrella chronicles, smash bros brawlobviously where only into the first year of this console and more great things will come.

You have to wait more, the developers are just learning how to make good games, i'm telling you, just wait, in a year we should have more quality games than now (have in mind that we already have some great games).
I find it interesting and flat-out paradoxical to see so many threads on the Wii board that downplay the system, since within the next few months, a glut of great games are being released. Then there are all the ones already released, such as RE4: Wii Edition, MP3: Corruption, Zelda: TP, and more. I could see the criticism being aimed at the system for Spring 2008, but... honestly, why care about that time period when so much high quality software will be out by then?

I did say something nice. I said nicely that he needs to tell us what he is looking for in a game and we would help him find it. As for definition of a troll: posting something just to induce flames. How else are people to react to this opinion other than: 1) No it doesn't! It rules! 2) I agree, it sucks, I sold mine! didn't you see my forum post where I declared my intelligence level?; 3) Oh yeah take this LIST! * pastes top 50 games for the wii * (note this doesn't really help anything more than induce more of the - but see most of those 'Suck' comments); or 4) Oh yeah... you just wait and see!. All of these responses I find to be extremely uneffective to the point of 'cut-paste' flaming. Happens on every post of this nature.
Come to think of it, if he does get rid of his wii that will free up one more console for someone that might like it and not come to the Wii board hoping to bash it. Sell away!

I know that the wii isnt capable of the best visuals but after seeing galaxy i would expect a whole lot more from the GFX department.

I didn't enjoy Melee at all, I sold it after putting in 10 hours or so. I thought that the N64 version was cool for a while when I had it. I'm quite intrigued with how Brawl turns out though, online multiplayer sounds pretty cool. Any word on the use ofheadsets?

As good as brawl will be, it doesn't need our help. It'll sell fine.Instead, as informed gamers, it should be our duty to push the lesser known titles as well as the big ones(if not more so). Every Wii owner at launch should have had TP, but zack and wiki deserves to be owned by everyone too.

both are great coop games.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot delivered a presentation during BMO Capital Markets' Annual Interactive Entertainment Conference in New York City on Tuesday, offering thoughts on each of the leading platforms and expressed particular pleasure in the success of the Wii. Success he expects to continue.''[Nintendo's mass market strategy] is very profitable for Nintendo, and very profitable for all third-party publishers,'' said Guillemot. ''... because [the strategy] is working, we create more product [for Nintendo platforms] and this will actually bring more people into the industry. The Wii is going to continue to do extremely well with no limit to growth.''Wii development is obviously of great importance and Guillemot noted that the publisher currently has between 400 and 500 people dedicated to Wii development and believes Ubisoft will be producing ''Nintendo-like quality'' on the Wii next year.The CEO was also full of praise for the Nintendo DS which he said has helped expand Ubisoft's business, with Ubisoft CFO Alan Martinez adding that the platform's low development costs mean profits can be made on much less successful titles: 100,000 DS sales will see a profit compared to around 1.3 million units required for profit on PS3 and Xbox 360.Guillemot also had positive comments about the Xbox 360 and PS3. i could care less what ubisoft thinks. because all they do is put their C, most B teams to develop games for nintendo consoles. with the ecxeption of rayman, name a game that's worth any attention developed by them on trhe wii.

i dont think ubisoft is the only developer pleased with nintendo's success i think almost every developer is because they know they can make 3rd rate games and people will buy them just because of the large amount of people that own wiis.

It's good that there's a third-party out there that's willing to focus a good portion of their resources to developing for the Wii. Their games haven't been phenomenal or anything, but the more games the better. And you never know which ones might turn out to be great.
Success created in no way by them. Rayman may have been good, but the rest were garbage. They had better step it up.I do believe that they can produce some of the best games around (Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia), so it's not a question of talent.
