I'm fairly angry over lack of effort...

A fair number of 3rd party games released are done for all platforms and really shine on the 360 and PS3 but have almost a total lack of effort on Wii versions. Eg. The Simpsons game and Lego Starwars: Complete saga. The Simpsons game cut out a large chunk of the game all together, 360 and PS3 versions could explore springfield freely but Wii restricts it to the Simpsons house. SW: Complte Saga doesnt offer the online play like the other versions. And both of these games have tacked on motion controls. Honestly, I mean Ubisoft made that mistake and admited it and are trying much harder on the rayman rabbid sequal but no one seems to be learning from the mistakes. I'm fairly angry over lack of effort...
Oh yeah, i agree.I'm fairly angry over lack of effort...
and the spider man 3 game too
It's largely because of the psp/ps2. If they didn't exist then developers would only focus on a 360/ps3 and wii version of multiplat games. Devs who are lazy just dont want to develop the game a third time especially for the wii alongside a ps2/psp and 360/ps3 version.
Ubisoft never apologized for the first Rayman Raving Rabbids. Before you rant you might want to recheck your facts.
I agree. I only buy multiplatform 3rd party games for my PS3 or 360. Devs need to quit being so lazy, only real graphics I've seen on the Wii that made me say ''Wow'' are those from Nintendo. Like TMNT, it looked better on the PS2. The Wii can do better than the PS2. WTF?
I'm at a critical time with my opinion over 3rd party devs on the Wii. It seems that if they can't release their game on 2 - 3 consoles (possibly PC too) they are not going to try too hard at the development. This of course puts the Wii at a disadvantage. To really get a great game out of the Wii you almost need to design specifically for it. 3rd party devs though are too greedy to do something like that.

There are a few 3rd party games that are exceptional for the Wii, but unfortunately the devs don't realize it is OK to put in non-cartoony graphics into the games. I'll use Zack and Wiki as an example - great game, stupid artwork for the US Wii crowd - some have overlooked it, but it would be better to know the market you are trying to sell too. Take the game, throw on some graphics that look like it was pulled from Pirates of the Carribean, rename it 'Barbosos Treasure' (that's right scrap the cutsie name on the front). And then ADVERTISE IT! Sales in the states would have been better.

Nintendo will sink with the console if their games suck thus they commit to making the best thing they can. Unfortunately 3rd party devs don't see it the same way and are more willing to cash in than make a name for themselves on the Wii. I personnally am about to say 'good ridence!' and I'll keep shipping my money to Japan one game at a time.

here is something that i've noticed... why doesn't nintendo or the third party release any ''special edition'' games as well, ps3 and 360 do. it would be nice if super smash brawl would also come in a ''special edition'' as well for the true hardcore gamer. there would be people that would buy it!!

Doubt you'll have many agree with you though.
Well lets send em a message then, only buy wii specific or good games and mature games like: Manhunt 2, Mario Galaxy, Battalion Wars 2, Guitar Hero 3, Mario Strikers: Charged, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Umbrellica Chronicles, Ghost Squad, Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, Excite Truck, Medal of Honer Heroes 2, and the like. To show em we want good: gameplay, graphics, online support, mature content, motion controll, non ps2/psp ports, all features from 360/ps3 versions, online voice interactivity(friend codes NOT neaded), community, new channels(not this vote and check mii out crap real stuff like demos), Downloadable Content(coming soon anyway), non cartoony graphics All the time, hardcore games, first/third person shootsers(wiimote ir was made for these! eg. RE4 Wii, MP3:C), non miny games collections, role playing games(oblivian), less learning while you play bs, faster wii updates and channels added, and much much more.
Manhunt 2
Buying crap games help things?Awesome, add Chicken Shoot to the list.
I agree. With a few very notable exceptions for the Wii and other past platforms (PS2, Gamecube, N64, PS1, etc.) I'd have to say that as a general rule of thumb the vast, vastmajority of 3rd party efforts stink. For every COD4, Rogue Squadron, Resident Evil 4 or some of the originalson the PS1there seems to be6 or moremovie/cartoon license tie ins or other shovelware. The video game industry in some ways is really starting to resemble the movie and music industries. If they're not careful they run the risk of alienating their customer base with expensive low quality products. This is dangerous ground for any industry but inthecase of video games the customer base is very passionate, very discerning and not nearly aswilling to supportgarbage. With all the options we have today for our entertainment dollars 3rd party developers would be wise to consider what the movie and music industries are going through.

Friends don't let friends play crappy ports! I don't even acknowledge them as games. And to add to it, I do give credit where it's due. I cannot play games like RE4 or Manhunt 2 without motion controls anymore. I also am going to buy Zack %26 Wiki, which is a great Wii EXCLUSIVE title that would be horrible on any other system.
Yeah same complaint has been floating around this board for about a year now.

I don't see how their ripping people off. Might be hard to believe but the Halo 3 special edition is selling really well, just as good as the normal game. It's pretty much for hardcore gamers. If they wanted to they could add character models in the special edition of Braw and they can become tradable. Get your own real table of Braw dolls like in the first one but there real.

Always trying to place yourself as a condescending authority on this board.Almost all of those games have gimicky controls tacked on to what wouldotherwise be aPS2 game. Wii doesn't have an Assassins Creed or an Oblivion. I love my Wii, and I realize it is different although not worse or better than the PS3 and 360. Still, it is a valid complaint that all of the best titles for the Wii are 1st party games. This is what haunted the GCN. This is why I'm glad I have a 360 to compliment my Wii- better 3rd party titles means there are constantly new great games coming out for that system. Meanwhile I have to wait a few months for the Wii.
Yeah, that is a good point. Although maybe they're doing it for a reason. It could be that it can't handle the memory or maybe the Wii movement takes alot on the disk. Or they're cheap skates.

Then they use minimal effort to make it run on the Wii, and since they didn't put much effort into porting the game, it doesn't have to sell many copies to make it pay off. All we can do as consumers is stop buying crappy games.
